I’m sure that you have plenty of relatives and friends that buy your children clothes and toys for their birthday, Christmas and a number of other holidays. By telling your peers that your child wears organic clothes, they’ll be more likely to buy more organic clothes and toys that are good for the enviornment. Doing a simple step like putting organic clothes on your child can lead to more people wanting to help and become more green. Do your part and start by giving your child some organic clothes.

February 19th, 2010Picky eaters, and the not so picky eater.
January 15th, 2010As a new mom, I am learning things as I go along. My baby, well, now she’s more like a toddler, is a great eater. She eats fruit and veggies everyday, as well as some complex carbs, and lean proteins. I believe she’s a great eater because she eats a balanced diet. I do find though when she gets “snacks” like crackers once in awhile, she tends to want the whole box. Which does not happen. So overall, she isn’t much of a junk food eater. It’s not available to her, so she doesn’t know any better. My husband would say out daughter isn’t much of a picky eater, but I bet if you asked him who is in our family, he would pick me. I would agree to a point with that opinion. To me, it is highly important what goes into our bodies, especially with the concern of GMI’s out there. If you are not aware of the GMI’s are, they are genetically modified ingredients. In other words, man altered ingredients, including your fruits, veggies, grains and all other foods. When I we start to think of it, and what actually it does to our food, and how my body would be able to process this, I just cannot justify it. And so, the picky eater in this family is me. We got married, it was a priority that I feed my husband the best food possible, natural, wholesome, and nutrient rich. When we found out I was expecting, it got even more serious. The best thing I can do for my family is be the picky eater, then teach our children why we eat the way we do. With education, our children will hopefully be picky eaters as adults. Not the thing most mom’s would want for their children. But when I’m not the one supplying her with her daily food, and it’s her turn, picky is the way I want her to be. Wholesome, delicious, food. In this day and age, one needs to be picky.
What is going on this winter?
January 10th, 2010It’s the beginning of January, and all of December we had great, mild weather. Once it hit January though, it’s been so cold that my bones hurt when I go outside. Where I live, it’s always a nice 70 degrees during the winter months, and if we were to have a cold snap, it would be for a day or two. So far, this cold snap has lasted over a week, and I don’t mean it’s in the 60’s, it’s been in the 20’s! Unheard of for our area of the world. I have sweaters, and long sleeve shirts, but a coat, never liked them. Even when I lived up north, I never liked wearing one, but I had to up there.
Snow, now that is something I do not miss from living up north, and it was the only reason I wore a coat. But, wouldn’t you know it, they are saying we are getting snow in the next two days! It won’t stick around for long, but really?! Snow?! I’m going to have to buy some gloves if this keeps going on. A nice long vacation to the islands sound good to me right now. Bring out the sandels again, which I used to wear throughout the winter here at home. Once this weather does get back to normal for this area, I plan on going to the beach. If anything, this is making me appreciate what I do have down here. The opportunity to wear sandels when I want, shorts and a nice sweater, and not take it for granted. Oh winter weather, it’s a nice change from the heat, and it’s great for relaxing at home. There are some great things about it, and I will have to learn all about them. That is, with my layers on, and sneakers.
That time of year….
December 28th, 2009Well, i has only been a few days afer Christmas, and I find myself going over how well I did on the shopping this year. With the economy being the way it has been, I found the malls more packed than ever before with people looking for a bargain. Sure, there were some good deals, but to me, the crowds, and driving just don’t make up for all the time and hassle it takes. When I think about the gifts we did get this year for our daughter, I realize that all but one were bought online. With everyone offering free shipping, why not?! Honestly I do not want to put my little girl in and out of the car all day to see what the stores have, or don’t have. Just going online while she takes her nap is nice and easy. If they have it, great! If not, no problem, just look for that item on another website. It leaves me with more quality time with her at the park, the bookstore, and just having fun with her.
Even my after christmas sales, I almost went out to get one item at the store. Then just as I was about to go, I realized, I don’t want to fight other people for one item. I jumped on the computer, found it, bought it, and then enjoyed a great breakfast with my family. No stress, just relaxing and spending time with the people I love. Oh, how I love to shop online! Have a great and happy New Year everyone!
